Recent work
A data-driven World of Warcraft PvP meta tracker. Syncs US/EU leaderboard data from the Blizzard API to analyze what top-rated players equip, enchant, gem, and talent into — broken down by spec and bracket
32 KB total transfer. Custom WebGL background, scroll animations, parallax, i18n, dark/light themes — zero animation libraries, zero frameworks at runtime, Lighthouse CI enforced on every deploy.
Fixed error semantics in Oracle's GraalVM Ruby runtime. Process.spawn was raising the wrong exception for non-executable files. Iterated with the core maintainer on MRI compatibility, cross-platform behavior, and spec coverage. Merged upstream.
Experience
Led end-to-end development of a MedSpa booking platform from concept to production — real-time availability, payments, map-based discovery, CMS-driven content, push notifications, and live chat. Full ownership across backend and infrastructure.
Brought in to own a critical security remediation end to end. Scoped the solution, decided on a microservice extraction strategy (Rails → Python/Litestar), and delivered a production-ready service with zero disruption to the existing product — on a tight deadline I helped negotiate.
Owned the backend for a cross-platform ed-tech product from design through production — made the technology choices (NestJS, MikroORM), shaped the API contract with the mobile team, and drove reliability improvements across high-traffic client-facing endpoints.
Joined a fintech product team and drove engineering quality forward — introduced test-driven development, improved CI/CD pipelines, and built internal Python tooling that automated manual data workflows the operations team depended on daily.
Sole technical owner of multiple travel products during COVID-19. Kept the platforms running, made prioritization calls on what to build vs. sunset, managed every deployment, and refactored legacy Rails modules to ensure the business could survive and scale post-pandemic.
